Reiki, or Remote Reiki, is a Japanese energy healing technique and translates to “spiritually-guided life force energy”. Ki, also known as Chi, Qi, prana or orgone, is the energy of vitality that flows through all living things and Rei refers to a spiritual or “higher” source and guidance of this energy. Reiki masters are “attuned” to this particular energy frequency by their teachers and are trained to “funnel” Reiki from its limitless source in the universal background, down to the specific area of the body being treated. Reiki can be administered with or without physical touch, either in-person or from a remote location and can be applied to both physical and emotional complaints. It is commonly used for stress reduction and relaxation and it also promotes healing from surgery or other injuries. We provide all of our Reiki sessions remotely through Zoom and all sessions are private, confidential and adhere to a strict code of ethics.
Reiki does not diagnose or treat any mental or physical illnesses or conditions. Like all our practices, Reiki works by supporting the body on an energetic level.
The style of Reiki known and practiced around the world today originates from Usui Reiki Ryoho, passed down to us by Usui Sensei (Dr. Mikao Usui), who received the gift of Reiki on Mount Kurama in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, in 1922. Records(opens in a new window) show that there was already a handful of practitioners developing their own Reiki techniques by this time, and Usui Sensei was not the first or only person engaged in this type of work during this place and point in history. Non-the-less, it would be Usui Sensei’s style of Reiki that would be the one to survive the changes sweeping Japan during and after World War II, and go on to thrive in America and all around the world.

And there are many forms of Reiki(opens in a new window) being practiced once again, today! As Reiki became more affordable and spread across continents, different styles emerged and different kinds of Reiki energies were identified. An excellent history of Reiki can be found at the International Center for Reiki Training (opens in a new window), run by William Lee Rand(opens in a new window), who holds both 4th and 5th place in the Usui Reiki lineage.
Because energy is everywhere, Reiki can be administered from anywhere. Remote or Distance Reiki has been practiced for decades and Reiki masters are well-trained in both in-person and remote treatment applications. In fact, one of the symbols (characters) used in Reiki is a distance healing symbol, used for remote work.

Remote Reiki is possible because Reiki does not only exist down here, on our physical plane. It is everywhere, including places our sensory organs can’t detect such as the finer planes of nature, where time is not linear as we know it to be in our 3-D existence. Reiki does not have to obey the speed limit or any physical laws. It works more like Quantum entanglement(opens in a new window), where a change in one location automatically registers a change in another.

Though Reiki masters are trained to hone in on a client’s specific energy no matter where they are in the world, they only do so with full permission granted and only and ever with intentions to heal as requested. Reiki, regardless of the style or method of application, is deeply rooted in ethics and Reiki practitioners are trained accordingly.
